Incarnate The Line
Some pictures of my tattoo sleeve in progress. The idea was to incorporate a number of abstract geometric patterns which would wrap around the musculature, undulate and stretch with the skin; conjure the illusion of blocks and angles and depth on the smooth, curved surface. It’s an embodiment of some themes that have interested me for a while (the adherence of abstract structures to the human; their emanation from the human; the inhuman and inorganic straight line; the… divinity? of geometry; blah…), developed in certain directions. The amazing work was done by my friend and master-tattooist Jim MacAirt, working at Into You in Brighton. Pics of the completed piece soon.
